Our Daily Challenge ... coming or going

This afternoon I went to Tweed Heads (about an hour North). As I was coming home I stopped at Billinudgel and took a night shot of the pedestrian overpass which crosses the highway to Ocean Shores. Last time I stopped as I was going north and took a daytime shot (see below) PS. The Pocket / Billinudgel area is where I grew up.

The back side of the gazebo at the "Humble Pie" shop, Billinudgel taken from the pedestrian overpass. Billinudgel is a tiny village where my family lived from 1967 onwards. It is famous for Humble Pies and it's hotel. M.A. Ring (known as Ma) was the oldest publican in Australian until her death in the 1990's aged over 90. My father was the baker and his brother was the butcher there when we were growing up.

Late afternoon at the park ... everyone who braved the heat has gone home. I took almost 200 swing shots this afternoon. I have gone with the traditional swings because of the interesting light but I rather like the others I've added too. I appreciate your opinions.

If I am going to visit my brother, Jim, this is where I would turn off the expressway. I lived at The Pocket until I was 15 years old and my parents bought a house at Billinudgel when I was 16. Mum lived there until she passed away a few years ago. My brother has recently moved back from Alice Springs.

I drove my sister up to Tugun to see a doctor today and he sent her to have a CT scan. While she was having it I rang my husband to check the challenge, walked back to the car to get the camera, looked up and took this shot.

7DOS ... My Country ... Black and White Wednesday. This photo is taken just a few kilometres from Murwillumbah.

Mount Warning is a mountain 14 kilometres (9 mi) west-south-west of Murwillumbah, near the border with Queensland on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Due to Mount Warning's proximity to Cape Byron, the Australian continent's easternmost point, it is the first place on mainland Australia to receive the sun's rays each day.

It was on 16 May 1770 that Lieutenant James Cook, seeing the mountain from the sea, named it Mount Warning.

Mount Warning is the central volcanic remnant of an ancient shield volcano, the Tweed Volcano, which would have been about 1,900 m (6,200 ft) above sea level or just under twice the height of the current mountain. This volcano erupted around 23 million years ago. As the mountain's central vent cooled it shrank, forming a depression at the top that has greatly eroded.

The northern end of Seven Mile Beach near Lennox Head. Never many people this far along but totally deserted today, just after sun down on a dull cloudy day.

Looking toward the water, the Pacific ocean. Not even a single ship in sight.

This area of Australia is known as "Summerland" so this is our credit union. There isn't much neon in Ballina but I found five examples including an"open" and a "now showing" which are not very interesting. I am going for this as my first choice because I like the stylised map of Australia.
