A less known fact about the Le Corbusier’s famous Dominican priory of Sainte Marie de La Tourette is that it is inserted into the former gardens of the early 17th century Chateau de la Tourette (largely rebuilt in the 19th century), which extend some 70 ha and still contain a large number of features and follies including an icehouse, ruins of a temple and grottos.
