The Suitor Returns

Upon his first advance,
She dismissed him out of hand.
The gifts he bore were useless,
A new approach must be planned.

He was not familiar with rejection,
His attraction could not be denied.
Despite her feigned indifference,
His desire was bona fide.

His charms were undeniable,
He could not be long ignored,
Fate brought them together,
She was meant to be adored.

He again appeared on her doorstep,
Ready for a fresh new start.
The gift he bore this time around,
Came from deep within his heart.

Master Jung Ho Lee and Chris Stoy - Feb 2008. Chris and I, along with several others tested for 2nd Dahn together. Chris and I trained together and he helped me tremendously. Master Lee is a great teacher.

My gaze fell upon the tiny figures running free,
They laughed and squealed with such boundless glee.
So happy, blissful, joyous and gay,
There is nothing so beautiful than children at play.

Polka dots, party hats and ponytails,
Evidence of all the things that fun entails.
A Saturday is meant to be spent at the park,
Where dreams ,mirth and giggles are sure to embark.

The stage this day was set by the sun,
Creating a place allowing nothing but fun.
I looked upon them with such awe,
Noting the magic of a simple seesaw.
