Tanker TNB Pride slowly entering the Koningin Wilhelminahaven (Vlaardingen, near Rotterdam), coming from the Nieuwe Waterweg (New Waterway, man made canal from Rotterdam to the North Sea).

The Bollenstreek (Dutch for "Bulb Region") is a region in the Netherlands consisting of areas in North and South Holland that feature the cultivation of flower bulbs. The colorful flower fields that have come to symbolize Holland can be seen in these areas around April.

Deze luchtfoto van bollenvelden is genomen op 29 april 2013 in de buurt van Sassenheim, Lisse, Noordwijkerhout en Voorhout. De stralende zon, de straffe wind maar vooral de prachtige kleuren van de hyacinten zorgden voor mooi beelden. Met dank aan de ambassadeur voor de bollenstreek voor het aanwijzen van mooie plekken..

De bollenvelden zijn een attractie van formaat! Internationale toeristen worden per bus rond getoerd maar ook de Nederlanders komen graai de spectaculaire kleuren bewonderen.

Voor het nemen van deze foto's hing de camera aan de lijn van een vlieger.

DCV Aegir is an impressive Deep Water Construction Vessel being built for Heerema Marine Contractors.

The Aegir is heavy and metal, hence this somewhat rough rendering :-)

EN: Visitor windmill at Kinderdijk, NL. The mill was decorated and started in a small ceremony to open the new visiting season. The camera was lifted by a large blue kite ;-)

NL: Bezoekersmolen bij Kinderdijk. Versierd ter ere van het begin van het nieuwe bezoekersseizoen.

Raar weer: zon, sneeuw, zon, sneeuw, zon... wel mooi licht zo!

Er af en toe maar net genoeg wind om de molen te laten draaien en de vlieger te laten vliegen...

Combat vessel Bulwark (UK) visiting Rotterdam. The ship does not look big in this image, but when seen from the quay is is a huge monolithic beast!

The camera was dangling under the line of a kite. I could not get very close due to the presence of a tall building and fear of friendly fire :-)

This image was taken on 20:30 on the last day of WWKAP2013.
