Sudden change in weather has resulted in an explosion of blossoms resulting in an invisible fog of pollen which can be seen on the top of this Japanese seat (view large). It's time for medication for people like me to control my allergies. We wait for 6 months for Spring only not to enjoy it when it comes.

I'd forgotten how good this lens can be for general shots. Great in good light, but D80 likes to overexpose so Minus EV essential - in my case anyway :-) and sometimes a bit of minor PS work.

I like the little pyramid shaped hill in the gap to the sea. It was very warm.

D7100 arrived yesterday! 9th May.

View from our front balcony - my usual test shot subject. (Program Auto mode - Auto WB and ISO 100 - no adjustments)
The colours are very accurate - no need to set any exposure compensation - sharpness set to +6 after initial setup and a few basic trials.

Try on black or larger.

I wouldn't normally use this lens for close-up blossom shots as it is not, in my opinion, suitable for showing a nice background DOF or Bokeh. The grass background obviously doesn't help for bokeh but the blooms are OK. Personally I don't like the green, but no alternative was available for this shot.
Otherwise the lens is brilliant and super sharp for landscape and other shots.
