Dave rented a studio space for a couple of months and asked me if I wanted to shoot with him last weekend. I agreed. But, as you can see, I didn't make use of the studio itself. My excuse:I have no experience with flash. This was a little space with gorgeous windows in the same building and I decided to use it for the shoot.

I however realize that I need to get my act together wrt lighting. It is in my list of things to do. I swear! :)

About this picture:
According to the current census, male to female ratio is 1000 to 940 in India.

One of the reasons for this is Female infanticide (the deliberate killing of girl babies). As horrifying as it sounds in the 21st century, this is still practiced in India. India is a male dominated society. Boys are considered to be the bread-winners of the family... Rest on my blog

I don't usually upload pictures that are not conceptual. But, i am unable to produce conceptual portraits as regularly as I would like because they are quite time consuming . So, i am just going to upload pictures as and when i take them and stop setting rules for myself on what can be uploaded and what can't.

In love with this location except for the blackberry thorns all over this open field. I had pants on atleast. But P and Sy who were modelling for me were in shorts and got scratched up pretty bad

Many things i could have done differently in this shot. But it was a learning experience.

There is something about staging a scene where subjects interact that i find very interesting.

It was Tayisha's idea to jump into the middle there. The water was freezing and it also hailed for a bit when we were shooting. She didn't stop though. The cold only hit us after we stopped shooting and decided to head back. Its amazing how much power the mind has over the body. When you are concentrating on something, you can make your body ignore the cold and the pain. A couple of people stopped by to tell us that it was too cold for us to be doing this kind of shoot :|
