Across the Tar

This bridge was built in 1921 and spans the Tar River in Nash County NC. You can see Webb's Mill down the river. The water is very low. Where I was standing should have been several feet under water. Just as a side note after Hurricane Floyd in 1999 the river was 24 feet above flood stage. It was probably close to the bridge.

I had a few hours free today so I went to Franklin County and found a few old houses to shoot. On my way back home I saw this old truck in Louisburg. It was sitting beside a vacant house that was for sale.
I'm not sure about this composition. Let me know what you think

Webbs Mill, built between 1907 and 1909 on the Tar river in Nash County, North Carolina. It was still operating in the 1980's. This mill replaced an earlier antebellum mill. The water level should be at the top of the stone dam at the right.

This is a typical 19th century, eastern NC house, although not to many survive. The kitchen was connected to the house at a later date. People were still living in this one about a decade ago. Red Oak, Nash County, NC.
