The Historic Dockyard does it's best to fire the imagination and take you back to the days of Nelson, or further back to Tudor times and the Marie Rose, as well as more recent conflicts. And by and large they succeed. However I can't get this 'shed' to fit anywhere.......

I was introduced to the work of Salvador Dali at the tender age of eleven. I have to say I was, at the time, severely unimpressed.

Of course the man was a genius and his work has inspired countless numbers of painters and sculptors around the world.

This is my 'take' on Dali and his surreal view of the world around him.........

Robert Heinlein has always been and remains my favourite Science Fiction writer. I've read lots of others, and enjoyed their work, in particular Isaac Asimov. But Heinlein for me has always been the master storyteller.
Seeing Portsmouth's Spinnaker tower partly obscured by a plethora of masts from the Royal Clarence Marina, Gosport, put me in mind of the title of one of his greatest works.
