I went to a little phototour in Flatey today.
Went to the Ghostship (uploading a picture of it tomorrow) and played a little bit with shallow DOF.
Converted to BW and did this and that to get this texture...
Much better detail larger :)

Artic terns are mean - they try to kill you if you go too near them...
And it's not that easy to get a decent focus and framing when you are looking though the viewfinder straight up in the air and terns trying to attack you from all sides...

And this will be my last picture posted on Flickr this year!
Going on Christmas brake in the contryside (to Flatey where most of my bird pictures are taken :) ) tomorrow without internet connetion so I'll just spend even more time taking pictures to be posted on 3.rd january :) It's amazing place to take pictures, just 5 light posts there and bearly any light polution! Sheaps, birds, old houses, and soooo many intresting things.
So just merry christmas to everyone and don't let the christmas cat catch you!
Looking forward to see all the new pictures in couple of weeks and posting many as well!

Fulmar, taken just few meters out of Flatey, I was on a tiny boat with my little nice and just wandering around. No sun that day so I'm rather unpleased with the eye - but it isin't always sun in paradise :)

Snow Bunting, (Plectrophenax nivalis), Snjótittlingur or Sólskríkja in Icelandic.
Taken in Flatey, summer 2006.
In the summer snow buntings sining on the roof of my house and the fence are my alarm in the morning as well ad the Redwings, singing beautiful songs...
We have them in the winter too, then they are called Snjótitilingur and in the summer Sólskríkja.
This Snow bunting male is singing a song to the little fly, very small in this resolution but you might see it.

Taken on a frozen pond in Flatey some time ago.
My fingers became sooooo cold after shooting this as I couldn't really push the buttons with my gloves on...
Placed 13 out of 98 at www.ljosmyndakeppni.is photo contest - the theme was simple basicly.
I know i'ts got grain (added with USM to get certain feeling into it), and the straw is not straight and therefor I like it - allot.

Yepp, this is what I spent my weekend doing, baking cakes at my grandmother's.
We made 12 kinds and 100-200 of each. Hehe, Icelanders are crazy :)
