We had a late afternoon storm that produced a lot of thunder and lightning but as it reached the coast, the sea breeze killed it. The sunset that followed proved to be a stunner.

Whilst attending a birthday dinner at the Trailer Boat Club, a storm was building in the south. I couldn't resist, I got my camera and set it up and went back for dinner and just let it do its thing. Got this nice branching CG but it is a pity that it is right on the edge of the frame but not bad for a Lazy Shot.

This was taken a couple of weeks back. The thunderhead showed a lot of promise but delivered nothing but some colour as the sun set.

There had been a storm approaching from the Northwest but in true form for this season, it came to nothing as sunset came on. However, there were large waves and 7 metre tide. The turbulence of these waves was stirring up red coloured water just on the break line.

East Point is a site which was a heavy concentration of military operations during the defence of Australia from the Japanese during the hostilities of WWII. A lot of people don't realise that there were more bombs dropped on Darwin in the first raid on the 19 Feb 1942 than were dropped on Pearl Harbour.
This was the first of 64 raids on Darwin. There were nearly 100 raids on Australian soil.

We have just been on a 10 day trip to the East Kimberley's and this shot was taken at Ivanhoe Crossing on the Ord River capturing both sunset cloud and a developing storm cell.

This was taken from the Jetty and what a nightmare! Every time somebody walk, ran, cycled or let their dog loose, I got shake though my tripod. Out of about 20 shots, this was the only one that was sharp.
