Close to 6 pm, late October, the sky was strangely blue and the last bit of daylight had turned everything to a russet color, it seemed. Taken at Staunton View Park, Mecklenburg County, Virginia. Recently added to Explore, after the fact, for May 27, 2012 at #269! Highest #257. Whatever the algorithm used to select Explore, this is simply bizarre.

Do bumblebees get so drunk they become comatose? This one was totally inert; I thought it had died in a bacchanalian excess. An hour later the bee was still lodged on the blossom. Two hours later, it had gone.
