Is there is something inside that needs to be unleashed, something that has been stuck inside for a long time... instead it sits there inside, waiting to be exploited, waiting of the doors to open for it to take flight, to fly off into the light. When will this happen? When the chain gets so rusted that it will rust through, or will someone or something put in the key and open the doors........

Ever since I saw the breathtaking images of snow flakes from Sarah-Vie

I have been waiting for the moment to try my luck at this type of photography. Her images worked as an inspiration to me and the thought of trying to take some has haunted me ever since I saw hers....

This morning there was a very faint snow fall, just as if the flakes fell down one by one, thus the perfect conditions.

Well, here's my first attempt at milky way pictures. It was sunday, I saw on the moon phase calendar that there was no moon that night in my area. I also saw no clouds! So I decided to go for a little drive to get away from the lights..... it was tougher than I thought. After 60 minutes of driving and looking and searching dark places I came to this spot.

This particular image was taken with a Sigma 10-22 mm lens mouted on an EOS 5D markII. Regardless the full frame of the ES 5D and the fact that the lens does not officially "fit" on this camera I decided to try it anyways. It would surely give me the widest angle I have in my bag.... So here the result. I kind of like the dark frame around the image, it gives it a certain different look I find.

While looking at the thousands of stars and in my process of taking pictures of them, I started to ponder upon how naive it would be to think that we are the only one who is lucky enough to have an existence.... there muyst be other planets with life? Intriguing.
