This little piece of embossed art is nothing to write home about, but note how the artist took pains to make the traditional Majorcan dancers wear transparent skirts —not a bad idea if one wants to bring back boleros (the popular dance) into mainstream :-)

Isn't it good, so retro? The 'R' looks like a couple dancing, the 'o' like a cocktail, and the S is all movement... The sign is great, only that the Rivoli here is not a dance floor, but an old theater in Carrer Antoni Marqués Marqués, Palma, Mallorca.

This place was a slaughterhouse and now it isn't. I 'saw the photo' as the photographers say and could do it... thanks to my new mobile phone, of course... :-) There was an ugly passer-by but it was kindly removed by Júlia through the Photoshop.

From the Michelin guide:

"Stadium (Stádio). It stands on the site of the ancient stadium laid out under Lycurgus in the 4C BC and rebuilt by Herod Atticus in 144 AD. It fell into ruin and was turned into a wheat field. In 1896 it was rebuilt on the original plan for the modern Olympic Games. From the top of the white marble terraces which can accomodate 70000 spectators, there is a view of the National Garden and the Acropolis."
