7 miles, Khagrachari, Bangladesh, 2008.

Deep in the pristine jungle, they were waiting.
For the rain that would nourish them....
For the sunlight, that would make them dance in delight.

Then light came, defeating the foreboding darkness.

Captured from 7 miles, Khagrachori, Bangladesh. Only a few people has been to this almost pristine region of Khagrachori, which is extremely difficult to reach, crossing several hills and getting almost 400 feet down a steep hillside.

Volagonj, Sylhet, Bangladesh, 2008

A love is just a kiss.

It's just a song.

When the sky kissed the hill yonder.....

She sang a song of joy,

...That continued forever.

Captured on the way to Volagonj, Sylhet. You can see the vast looming clouds over the seemingly never ending hill range, and a small waterfall adorning it. Volagonj is one of the most wonderful place in Bangladesh I have ever visited.

Narayangonj, Bangladesh, 2008

The time for rain has come, with the mighty sun disappearing behind the veil of clouds, and almost never ending shower continues for infinite time...

The sorrow of someone can be a blessing to others; like the incessant tears of the sky brings about mercy to the human kind.

Captured from Kanchpur, Narayangonj, Bangladesh. The rickshaw pullers are waiting under the heavy rain shower for passengers. This is the rainy season in Bangladesh.

Narayangonj, Bangladesh, 2008

In my childhood I dreamt a dream. It seemed I was flying in the sky with my colorful wings flapping against the wind. My dream took me to heaven and immediately threw me back. May be I was not supposed to have a dream of myself.

Days passed by and I have grew old. But you know, dreams never grow old, they just traverse from one mind to another, from this time to future.

So here I am, children, with the merchandise of dream. Those who wish to have a dream of yourselves, please come to me, buy one. It will cost almost nothing, I promise.
Yet, those roads appear now and then.
They have to be crossed, because no matter whether a road is difficult or smooth...
They all lead to the destination.
[..Chuadanga, Bangladesh..]" />

At last I am going home.

Many days have passed since you have sent me to an unknown destination.

Mother, you told me, that was my new home...and I believed it, I lived it.

But I waited for this day so long.....

To return to my root...to my true home.

I am coming home, Mother.

A rural Bangladeshi housewife, with her child is returning to her mother's home in a journey called "Naior". A three wheeled vehicle called "Van" is taking her to her village.

Photo Walk, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 2008.

If I were a bird.
I would fly in the open sky...
Into the green sea, with the waves of clouds.

And someday, a human would cage me.
My soul would cry for freedom, then.

Humans seek freedom as a congenital trait.
But, they love to confine the free birds in a cage....

That's what keeps me wondering.

Khagrachori, Bangladesh, 2007

The Hills, the greens, the wilderness.

They all are calling me....and I simply can't ignore that.

I have to go, again and again.

God gets two time slots in a human's life.

At childhood, we remember Him now and then....
May be being startled by the wonderful Earth, where He sent us,
We thank Him in our early life.

Then we almost forget Him.....
Our young eyes get blinded by this lustrous world.

At old age, He comes back to our mind again....
The mind, which is now full of fear of death and afterlife.

Captured from Noapara, Narayangonj, Bangladesh. Children are heading to nearby Madrasa (institution for religious education), and an old man is heading to the mosque.

My home, where I live, is devoid of light.
But out there, I know light showers the earth.
One day......
One day, I'll leave this home of despair and darkness.
There is an artist creating masterpieces every morning.
And there is a thief, who has got a device, called camera.

Every morning the thief copies an image of the masterpiece in his device.
