The man-made reservoir at PSE's Electron Hydroelectric Project is fed by this 10-mile wooden flume, capable of transporting up to 400 cubic feet of water per second. Atop the flume is a small rail line that uses "speeder cars" to shuttle maintenance workers and equipment, and is known as "the crookedest railway in the world."

Electron Aerial

This aerial photo shows the Electron Hydroelectric Project powerhouse on the Puyallup River. The turbine generators in the powerhouse are fed by a man-made reservoir and are capable of generating 22 megawatts at peak capacity, or enough to power about 17,000 homes.

The Jackson Prairie Underground Natural Gas Storage Facility, located in Lewis County, is co-owned by Puget Sound Energy and is the Northwest’s largest natural gas-storage reservoir. It's the 14th largest storage reservoir in the United States in terms of capacity for natural gas withdrawal and delivery to consumers. Taken in August 2008, this photo shows the facilities compressors.
