This tree is not photoshopped, it's really that big and beautiful!

I just wanna say thanks to everyone that said really kind and uplifting things to me yesterday. It made me feel so much better about myself. When people tell me that they think I'm inspiring it's always so hard to believe but it fuels me to try my best.

Lately I've been feeling really down. I feel like nothing I make satisfies me enough & sometimes I doubt on whether I have what it takes to make my dreams come true.

& even though I'm not always alone, I sometimes feel really lonely. I can't help but feel like things might get worse once everything around me starts dying but I will try to just take things day by day.

I was inspired by the movie Another Earth for this photograph.

& this is my best friend Flor (maria) again!

Yeah, it's something I've been trying to do lately. It feels so nice to entirely enjoy the moment & just take things easy.

I had a really lovely day today. Went to go see Moonrise Kingdom in downtown Chicago & then hung around a little bit by the beach. ahh ♥

& I JUST GOT AN AWESOME SURPRISE hehe I'll tell you tomorrow.

I'm starting an awesome collaboration with the beautiful Paige Nelson! The theme is "Art through the Ages" Basically we get inspiration from art produced in different historical periods & make our own beautiful art!! We'll be doing this once a week.

For our first piece, we both got inspiration from a cave painting called "La Cueva de las manos". Check out her picture for a little more information!

Taking this drove me insane! I had a different idea for this piece. I searched for a stone or a cave for so long! Of course I didn't find anything. I live in Illinois, the great plain fields :/
So instead I put the "manos" on me :)

A special thanks to Chris for making sure I didn't start a Forrest fire :D

Just finished editing this, woo.

I think I'm going to make the smart choice to go to community college for a year then transfer.
I went to go to talk to a Columbia College counselor in the city today. He was blown away with my portfolio and wants me to apply for the presidential scholarship next year (the biggest scholarship there) he thinks I'd be stupid to not got to COD (comm. c) for a year...which means a lot coming from him. He was super honest, & although it's such a drag :/ I think it could do me so well in so many ways.
It's such a hard choice because all I want to do is leave home. I also have to realize since I'll be in college and I'll have my car I can also travel and have much more time to explore, relax, and unfortunately work my ass off. Maybe I'll change my mind about college or where I want to live & hey I'll be saving $35,000.
AGH I never thought making these decisions would be so hard. How could they expect 17 year olds to make these choices...

Today I went to this consignment shop that I work with and got this super cool vintage jumpsuit looking thing haha I'm currently on the search for models to rock it out!
Then Christopher and I went to Panera, & I think we're going to a local show later on. We'll see.
Overall, it's been a pretty chill day... well I've been up for 3 hours. I woke up at 2 PM today. hehe

EXPLORED! Oh em gee, two in row. This is awesome :)

Over my winter break I've watched four movies where Marilyn Monroe stars in, so she completely inspired this.
In all of those movies she plays pretty much the unstable hot gold diggin dumb blonde.
She says and does the dumbest things and it supposed to be humorous. THAT'S another thing.
Christopher and I were talking last night about humor in movies, we've come so far!! The humor that exsists now is way more sophisticated. In my opinion at least haha It's hard for me to find a show like the three stooges funny but I still like to watch shows like those :)
Well anyways, I really love Marilyn Monroe. Just like every girl loves her, but I don't know... she's so fragile and sad.
It was a weird thing watching those movies because I'm currently reading her book and she is so different then the way she portrays herself.
I can relate to the way she feels about certain things sometimes, I don't know if that's good or bad.
So yeah, this one is for her.

I also want to say yet again THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED AND VIEWED MY PICTURE FROM YESTERDAY.
When I found out it got explored I did a pterodactyl yell & freaked everyone out haha I feel so unworthy of your time. THANK YOU so muuch <3

So this is it. I'm starting a 365...366? They say third's a charmer ;)
I can not tell you how excited and terrified I am.
I am so excited for 2012, I am so excited to work my ass off.

These are some of the cameras I own! I actually use them all! When I can at least, polaroid film is expensiveeee. haha I got the white holga with the face yesterday as a late christmas present <3

Three days ago I took some pictures late at the park and not until yesterday did I realize I was missing my main lens. I looked all over my room, house, car, everywhere. I was so upset.
I couldn't believe I had actually lost an almost $400 lens that I bought with my own money. Especially because I just quit, I was moaping around all last night. Thinking that was the end of my "unstarted" 365. It seemed like a horrible way to start my year. Christopher wanted us to go search outside but I said there was no point. It had rained one day, and anyone that found it would've take it. Still with hope I went back home and searched my room once more. Defeated I called him back and said it was gone. That was it, there goes my 365.
I asked him to do one more thing for me. Even though it was 3 in the morning I asked if he could please go look for it at the park where I took pictures. & like the good person that he is...he went.
He called me up and said, "Remember how you said no one is kind hearted enough to turn it in?.....Well someone put up a paper in a plastic bag saying they found a camera lens"
My heart jumped and he gave me the number.
I called the guy a few mins ago and he was very kind. His name was Scott and I told him what type of lens it was and such. He said he put a new flyer up in a plastic bag because the first one go washed away from the rain. He kept saying, "we're happy, we will be there" so I'm assuming he's referring to his wife. He sounded like an older gentleman. He said he would be back on tuesday, and at 6 we'll meet at park and he'lll return my baby.
I am so surprised someone was nice enough to do that.
I just hope it didn't get hit by rain! The fact that he put two flyers up though makes me feel better.
I can't help but feel it's like some type of good karma or something I got from getting my laptop stolen :)
It was actually a good way to start my year, for a second there I had given up on the kindness of humanity.

Anyone that knows me is well aware of my fascination with aliens. (obsession)
I know A LOT about aliens (geek) and tend to rant a lot when the subject comes up haha I'm definitely going to start using this as an inspiration for my photographs.

This is my best friend! Her name is Flor but many people can't pronounce it. They say Floor. It means flower in spanish so people call her by her middle name Maria haha :)
