Taken on a wooded cliff top, this shows the view northwards to The Cove and cave, then onto Far Arnside, with the slopes of Arnside Knot in the distance. The village of Arnside is on the far side of the Knot, and the Kent Channel flows into the Bay at the top of the scene, far left.

All of this area is limestone, with many limestone pavements, plants, insects, butterflies etc. The environs of Silverdale are a delight, so many woodland areas and many Public paths to explore.

The map details show Far Arnside, but this was actually taken on the outskirts of Silverdale, looking along to Far Arnside, with the lower slopes of Arnside Knot in the distance.

On the right is the Cove with its distinctive cave (the latter a magnet for the young at heart to explore!),

There is a coastal path from Silverdale to the Cove, part of the land is managed by the NT.
