Out on Dartmoor the light wasn't good and then all of a sudden it pierced the cloud and provided this opportunity, I really wanted to capture the ice crystals anyway but I don't think it would have had the same impact without the light? Thanks for looking :-)

The weather is not a photographers best friend down here in Devon at the moment. I've had so many trips out at the crack of dawn and at the end of the day taking no photographs at all! I felt it was time to raid the archives and bring a bit of summer back :-) Thanks for looking.

Bovisand beach, Devon. This amazing light was a result of a weather front clearing from the Atlantic at sunset, illuminating the 'ceiling' of cloud.

For this shot I was unsure of using a long exposure with the sun still burning so bright. However the sea needed to be calmed so I also used a one stop ND grad soft at 45 degrees over the 'hot' sky to the right. In the end it turned out alright.

After reading the works of the great Joe Cornish, I have been really trying to improve my composition. I pondered this for a while and wanted the 'lean' of the cross to coincide with the swaying foreground grass and angle of the crack. Also the frozen leat leading the eye away towards the distant tor. Thanks for taking the time to have a look :-)
