Cycling along the undercliff path from Brighton, I come across the most unusual drumming practice site I've ever seen. He's called "puncture kit" and his website is linked here

I'm not sure why he's rigged his kit up to his bike - the waves crashing around it will rust his bearings......

After 6 months of winter, London descended on Brighton beach for the first sunny Mayday bank holiday in years. The fact that the sea was still freezing didn't stop some people getting in: and others taking the cliched photos of splashing water backed by sunlight.

Everone does this! (I wonder who the first was). I couldn't even see what i was doing it was so bright, and with family dragging me off, i had no time to find a less cluttered viewpoint.
But I liked the low point of view. And weatherwisw it was a fantastic contrast to the seafront 2 days earlier. (See link and in comments below)

These flats have some fantastic views across Brighton and the sea. They're also easy to turn into a cliché look-at-these-dreary-council-flats photo.
They were Brighton's first tower blocks, built in 1961 replacing the slums between Albion Hill & Carlton Hill

For the last few years the Brighton wheel has made the views down this Madeira Place in Kemptown, Brighton seem spectacular.
With the fog, it's like it was never built. Almost.

Sea mist is actually pretty common in Brighton. But the tourist guide images of the pier usually show all of it.

Brighton Seafront in Concrete

In the sixties some bright spark decided the seafront in Brighton would be improved with concrete.
Some have said that the marina that was built, subsidised by the tax payer, is simply a Travellers site for the better off Traveller.
Ironically, caravan/hiippie traveller are regularly evicted from the disused wasteland by here.

A few years ago, Brighton & Hove council spent £100,000s trying to persuade council tenants to vote to be privatised.
The graffiti remaining on this council block expresses what about 75% of tenants felt.
They remain with the council.
