Orange Hawkweed, Hieracium aurantiacum, found around the Round Mountain/ Tooma Dam area in Kosciuszko National Park. This daisy comes from Europe and is considered a weed in Australia and many other countries. It is an amazing plant that colonises and then eradicates all other competition. It has the potential to destroy the subalpine and alpine ecology of the Australian Alps.

Blowering Dam from Log Bridge/Ryans Creek, just off the Snowy Mountains Highway. At the time this shot was taken (Oct 2010) the dam was almost at 100% capacity.
