I was a twig at the turn of the 20th century. Many a dreamer and many lovers sheltered from the sun and rain under my shade. Countless rainbow trouts and Atlantic salmons nibbled at my reaching roots. Until one Spring, a great ice debacle ripped me from my stump and carried me to the sea.
