This is my shot from yesterday, just posting late. I met a group of photographers last night to do some street shooting, so I took this in an alley before we got started. We also went to an interactive art exhibit which was really cool. The curator opened up late just for our group. I hope some of my shots from that turned out so I can share. It was a fun night hanging with some fun people. Hung out late with a couple of people until the rain started. Had a great time and learned some stuff, too. I was up late posting my previous shot once I got home and I haven't even looked through my shots from last night yet. This morning I'm meeting another of my Flickr contacts who is in town! I just arrived downtown and driving down Lake Shore Drive and seeing the lake and the skyline always makes me smile - big!

I belong to a local photowalk group and a couple of guys posted that they would be going to Starved Rock early Saturday morning and invited anyone along who wanted to come and shoot. I wasn't 100% sure that I was going to make it after working both jobs on Friday, but on the other hand I didn't want to waste a minute of the fabulous weather we are having here at the moment.

As it turned out I managed to get myself up an out of bed in the morning and make it out there to meet them. And I am so glad I did!! It was an absolutely fantastic day of hiking, climbing and lots of shooting!! I met Sam Fowler, John Cousert and Paul Ciura at the park. We all did a lot of experimenting with OCF and I think they're all hooked on selfies now! I totally love that!

After shooting for a good part of the day, we decided to stay for burgers, beer and a lot of "shop talk." Sam, John and Paul, thank you all for a great day out! You are a great group to shoot with, so willing to share, so patient and such a pleasure to hang out with!

For anyone reading, if you don't belong to any local photowalk groups, I would highly encourage you to search one/some out, either here or on Facebook. I bet you'll find something. If you don't find one, start one! Build it and they will come! Seriously! Joining this group and going to my first photowalk has enhanced not only my photography, but I can say it has enhanced my life as well!

Note: I shot this with Sam's Sigma 8-16mm that he let me use yesterday! Finding photographer friends who shoot what you shoot and are so willing to share totally rocks!! Thanks, Sam!! I have added this lens to my wish list!

So much better on black! Thanks for looking!

It was a busy and fun day today. I met a friend of mine at the Green Music Fest in Wicker Park. It was pretty low key, but we walked around for a while then did some street shooting around the WP area. I told him about this coffee shop I had discovered another time I was there and we managed to find it again since I'd forgotten the name and exactly where it was at. We each had a yummy coffee drink and talked about photography and played with my Olloclip lenses on my iPhone. More street shooting, music at the fest and tacos at Flash. After that, I headed back to see a production of The Vagina Monologues. If you've never seen it, I highly recommend it. Extremely funny and incredibly moving at the same time.

After going to the Museum of Contemporary Art with Corin today, I put a couple more hours in the parking meter and headed over to North Avenue Beach. The sand was warm and the breeze was beautiful. There were lots of people out today, but not too many so that I was able to have some peaceful time sitting with my toes in the sand looking out onto the lake.

It was a very busy weekend and I have hardly even looked at all the images that I uploaded to Lightroom yet, much less made a dent in all the Flickring I am behind on. I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!
