I took this during the Meetup last month at the Chase Tower in downtown Dallas. We were having to shoot through glass in a well lit room, which usually creates horrible reflections. Thankfully, I have a little device called a Lens Skirt, which suction cups to the window and eliminates the unwanted reflections. I think I could have sold them all if I had some extras.

Here is a photo of a view into downtown Dallas. This was the night of the supermoon and I took my family for a little hike west of the city for some photo goodness.

I shot this with my 70-200 telephoto lens with a 2x teleconverter attached. I love the way it compresses the buildings when zooming in. In post-processing this one, I added a little grunge texture for mystery, drama, and to give it a cold feeling. I didn't get any good shots of the supermoon, but I still enjoyed the outing and time spent with my family, plus I did get this one. :)

One of the coolest things at the New York International Auto Show was the amount of electric cars that were there. I've been a big fan of electric ever since I switched over to lipo batteries from nitro in my r/c cars. I know the kind of power electric can produce. In fact, the r/c industry has just about completely switched from fuel to electric in the last 10 years. Electric is so much cleaner and better for the environment. It doesn't put off any nasty fumes.

I'm all about alternative energy sources. At the EG Conference, a scientist named Amory Lovins had a very encouraging presentation on getting off of oil and nuclear and on to alternative, cleaner sources such as wind and solar. It was really neat to run my little swamp cooler last year at Burning Man. I used solar to power the water pump and rechargable lipo batteries to power the fan. It worked like a champ and kept my tent about 20 degrees cooler. So keep looking for different ways to power things up. It's the wave of the future.

Every Sunday I'll post a new photo from Burning Man in the hopes that my dreams of getting tickets to Burning Man 2012 will become a reality. I registered, but got the infamous denial letter. I'm needing 2 tickets, one for me and one for my wife. If anyone you know has any extras, please contact me.
I stayed up all night biking around getting photos of all different kinds of awesome art and meeting incredible people. I took this photo at 3:18 in the morning and was just getting started, with the final goal being sunrise. The wind was at a minimum so I busted out my D700 with the 14-24 f2.8 attached. It was a 30 second exposure. The dance beats in the background were in perfect rhythm with my heart, and there was no other place in the world I would rather be.

Life in New Mexico is much different than here in the concrete jungle that is the DFW metroplex. It seems like every natural space here is under construction, or for sale to soon be. It really upsets me that it is that way. I’m longing for a simpler life and hopefully one day I can achieve the dream of having a farm and living away from the city in a much more natural environment... like this one.

I only thought I was finished shooting Badwater in Death Valley. As I was driving away, I looked out the window to see the clouds parting and making beams in the mountain fog. Ruh Roh...It's go time! So I slammed on the brakes and came to a screeching halt, grabbed my camera and quickly got this shot before it all disappeared.
