This little guy was busy as a beaver and he didn't even know that I was around. They really are quite cute until you see the tail and then they look just like a large rat...ooh, kind of creepy.

There is an Military base nearby called Shearwater Air-force Base. And is the case with many (or maybe all ?) Canadian military bases there is a golf course nearby for military personnel. This one is right on the Atlantic Ocean. This is a view of the back of the Clubhouse. The course is not yet open and it is gated so this is as close as I could get without trespassing.

Sunrise in E. Passage. I love the water in this one. Surfers were just coming in as I was leaving. Beautiful start to the day !! But it is still very cold here, just above 0% Celsius or 32% F. Those surfers are Krazy !!

This is a local lake where I take Piper to swim. She is watching the ducks from the weeds at the bottom of the screen, getting ready to go after them. They consider it quite a treat and lead her all over the lake, laughing their (you know...asses) off. She doesn't care, she is just having a great time.
Believe it or not Piper was scared of the water when she was younger and it took me several weeks to coax her in with sticks and such until she learned that she was indeed a natural swimmer.

Sunset in the Passage. This is an area called Fisherman's Cove and is in Eastern Passage, NS. There is a boardwalk, a beach, some restaurants and craft stores. There are boats that tie up here and are used by fisherman for the inshore ground fishery and lobster fishing. It is a small cove but very nice !!

Trying to learn Camera Raw, so I am experimenting This was a picture that I took last year. Changed it to B&W, added a graduated filter and vinette for a totally different look from the original.

Surfers are out there beyond the break, barely seen, like corks bobbing in the dark waters, patiently waiting for the wave that is going to give them that natural high...to carry them through until the next time they can test their skills in the cold waters off the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia..

Took a ride back from Halifax to Datmouth on the ferry Friday night. I know this is a bit dark, but i can't help it...I like it anyway.
