Johan and Oline Smelvær with their children. Both Johan and three of his sons (Johan jr., Bjarne and Reidar) worked at A/S Stangfjorden Elektrokemiske Fabriker. Bernhard Smelvær became a sailor and died during World War 2.

The Lundgren family. Johan Ludvig Lundgren came to Stongfjorden from Sweden and was employed at A/S Stangfjorden Elektrokemiske Fabriker as a foreman. He married Sofia Sørensdotter Klovet from Førde, Sogn og Fjordane. They had 10 children together. The Lundgrens left Stongfjorden in 1921.

Stongfjorden ungdomslag (youth club) 1908. Yhe youth club met in the old school house at Stafsnes. The club was dissolved when the worker's youth club was founded in the 1930s. Please view the notes for names.

The Stang farm, Paul Stang's home. Paul Stang was very much interested in farming and nature, and didn't much care for the development of the Stangsfossen waterfall and the etablishment of an aluminium factory in Stongfjorden.

August Høidahl's children ca 1917. From the left: Gjertrude, Kristian, Ole ("Wally"), Astrid and Finn. The Høidahl's moved to America in 1924. The descendants of the Høidahl family has visited Stongfjorden on several occasions since.

View of the "plankerenne", a wooden construction built for transporting goods to/from the dams. Here we see part of the Liljevatnet lake and the bridge crossing it. The milkmaids from the Stang farms also used this bridge when they were bringing the cows to their summer pasture.
