I'm home from Florida and have to say it feels good to be back to my usual routine...coffee in hand checking out Flickr as I begin my day. I apologize for not getting to everyone's photo stream while I was away. I tried to post my 365 shots and catch up as much as I could but just didn't have the time to do it properly. I'll take care of that by the end of the day today. :-)

A sculpted 145-foot-tall, 50-foot-wide tree, the Tree of Life is the icon of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. There are 325 animals carved in the bark and over 100,000 leaves on the tree. It spans 165 feet across and took 18 months to build. It also contains the 430 seat attraction "It's Tough To Be A Bug"...a 3D film with Flik & Hopper.

Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. Another shot taken at the end of a great day touring the park with Susan (Kiki FL) and her husband Bill. Susan had surgery on her hand yesterday so this photo is for her...wishing you a speedy recovery Susan & talk to you real soon (actually...I'll see you real soon). :-)))

For those of you not familiar with WDW, as you are driving off the 47 square mile property, the various gates have Mickey Mouse on them with the words "See You Real Soon".

Typhoon Lagoon

According to Disney legend, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park was created in the wake of the storm-of-storms. During the meteorological disturbance, surfboards were hurled into palm trees and boats were tossed through thatched roofs of beach houses… and onto mountains.

Just had an appointment postponed so thought I'd spend some time on Flickr until I have to leave. :-) I think this photo looks a little over-processed looking at it now, but don't have time to go back & re-do it so here it is. :-) Believe it or not, I still haven't looked through all my trip photos yet. Maybe I'll have some time tonight. :-)

Edited to add: It didn't look over-processed full size in Photoshop...maybe it's just my laptop screen. I'll have to go look at it on my desktop. Thanks everyone. :-)

These letters only had a lifespan of 8 years (soon to fade into Disney history as part of the DCA makeover starting early next year) but the new art deco turnstiles, similar to Disney's Hollywood Studios, should look pretty cool.

I snapped this quickly on my way home today but didn't like it at all when I uploaded it to my laptop. It's getting late, I'm tired & I can't think of anything else to photograph for my 365 project today so this is it. It's only a few minutes from my house and I pass it often, so I may try it again at a later date.

Arrived safely in Orlando this afternoon, checked into my room at WDW then headed off to meet
Susan and her husband Bill at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The park was fairly quiet and we had a nice time walking around taking pics. It rained very briefly (while we grabbed a bite to eat) and we thought the wet pavement looked pretty cool afterwards outside the American Idol Experience attraction. Thanks for a great evening Susan & Bill....see you soon. :-)

Lotus flower in the reflecting pool at the China Pavilion, Epcot World Showcase. I think they look almost as pretty closed as they do open.
