Venezuela - Los Roques - Gran Roque (la guasa). Taken with my dads camera Nikon F4 - Aquatica Housing, 2 Ikelite AI/n strobes Kodak Royal Gold 100. Scanned from film @ 300 dpi but resolution isn't that perfect. The hole through the group of fish was made with the air released by my octopus (air regulator)

New Caledonia - Bourail - Poe Beach

Clownfish are small, brightly coloured fish that live in shallow lagoons or sheltered reefs. They are found in the warmer waters of the Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean. They are also found in northwest Australia, southeast Asia, Japan and the Indo-Malaysian region. Clownfish have a symbiotic relationship with sea anemone.

They can only live in ten out of more than one thousand species of sea anemone.
Clownfish have a mucus covering that protects them from the sting of the sea anemone's tentacles. This mucus prevents them from being harmed, and allows clownfish to live in sea anemone. The diet of the clownfish consists of copepods, algae, isopods and zooplankton.
Clownfish are hermaphrodites (they develop as males first and mature as breeding females).

Hexabranchus sanguineus

This species of very large, strong-swimming nudibranch is one of the largest of all nudibranchs: specimens of well over 40 cm in length have been reported.
The species name, sanguineus, refers to its bright red coloration, but a yellow variant also exists.
The animal was given the common name "Spanish dancer" because the whirling swimming movement, and the red color of the mantle, are reminiscent of the skirt movements of a flamenco dancer.

Woke up a 3am this morning to get on time for the sunrise at Noosa, is a long drive from Brisbane but I think was worth it, I quite like this place. I wanted to take pictures at defferent locations once there but that would have meant a minimum 1km walk to get to the next location but I would have missed the sunrise.

Yellow banded pipefish (Corythoichthys flavofasciatus)
The actual size is about 4 cm long so the head was around 1cm. The subsea magnifier has a working DOF of about 3cm so I had to get really close to it to take this shot.
