When Sharon was visiting we had lunch at the Newport Bay restaurant and this painting was on the wall.. I just had to take a pic of it and am happy with the way it turned out.. The lunch was delish BTW...

Sharon came up and spent the night and this is one of the places we went for our photoshoot.. Usually there is water flowing down that little waterway but I guess the creek is too low to produce the runoff right now... I noticed that the fountains weren't operating.. Conservation????

Sharon came up and spent the night and we went duck and goose hunting at the Hillsboro OR Library this morning... There were several families but I got the biggest kick out of this little fellow.. He must have thought he was a motor boat because look at the wake he was leaving...

This was taken off the TV and is one of the floats and bands in the Portland Oregon Rose Parade.. This year I had difficulty finding it because I expected it to be on the usual station and No they had changed stations and personally I was a little disappointed with the way they had their cameras set up...I didn't think the broadcasting was nearly as good as the old station...

This was an experiment of selective color in the camera... The flower was of black and white but looked so funny that I decided to see if I could paint the color back into the flower... I put the same picture behind it and then used a mask to bring back the color.. I don't think I would want to do that every often because it was a lot of work and face it, I'm lazy.. (grin)

One section of Waterfront park is devoted to a Japanese American Historical Plaza... During WWII our Japanese friends were gathered up and sent to interment camps.. The powers that be were afraid that we had spies among us so they wanted to stop that.. Many of these people had shops and homes and they lost it all... This was in some way an apology to the Japanese in our area...
