Not following the sequence of my Tasmanian journey here so I will jump around a bit. I so loved this spot I came back here on several occassions to get the images I wanted. The first of several from this location.

These are the remains of what was once a substantial jetty at Middletone where they shipped locally grown berries and stone fruit to Hobart.

The thing that I found really interesting whilst travelling around Tasmania was the many varied jetty constructions and their condition. Some new, some falling down and very unstable. Unfortunately, one of the broken jetties had been repaired recently which was a real shame as it had so much character previously - damn Council's wanting to fix everything so they don't get sued! Not a thought for us photographers who like broken stuff! :)

Back from a week long indulgence of my photographic passion in Tasmania and I thought I would start with an image that breaks all composition rules - I dont care!

Nature was providing the perfect natural vignette so I went with it.

A very enjoyable week spent exploring both the locations and my new gear. Both were a real treat although my tripod is destined for the bin!

I love that I can get a 16.3MP square crop from a single frame - love it. Anyway, hope you enjoy this and images to come. I now have the lengthy task of processing the many images I have taken.

I will have to get back to this location as the angle of the sun was difficult as this location.

A great semi-circular sea-pool at Geelong. I found some higher vantage points for a later shoot.

Just breaking up my recent Bellarine Peninsula series.

A photo from a shoot at Port Welshpool today. Going at low tide I was able to climb down the sea wall and perch the tripod on the rocks. This enabled me to get a lower vantage point compared to my earlier posts of this location. I must say I prefer the stronger break of the subject across the horizon in this image.

Next time I might take a step ladder to get a higher vantage point and subject horizon separation?

The weather gods are not being kind to me at all at the moment. Every time I get a day off it is raining and blowing a gale! Back to the archives again...........sorry..............grrrrrrrr.

Overlooking Georges Bay at St Helens Tasmania. Whilst this image does not really show it, this jetty was a little precarious to navigate. The boards were covered in green slime and bird poo and many of the planks were rotted, so it is fair to say I walked only on the outer support beams!
