Surviving nearly 1400 years by being moved up the side of a gorge to escape floods, the Hanging Monastery is quite a sight, even if your toes are numb and your face is stinging from the blowing ice and snow during our visit.
In other pictures on flickr, there are loads of people there. I guess the key is to go when it's too cold to enjoy for more than a few minutes.

Another older photo. You'd think walking around in subzero °F temperatures I'd come up with something, but instead, this is from a hike a couple of years ago in nearby Walker Ranch. It's sparkly.
This time, I added the vignetting. Hopefully subtle enough.

The old city walls around the drum and bell tower are well lit at night. Even though it's not obvious from this picture It's a popular place to shop, eat, or just people watch; somehow even in during the coldest month of the year. Or maybe that's how I got this shot with no people...it was really cold!

The small dots across the top are kites. Check it out large.

My was it cold. 0°F during a snowshoe hike. Cold. Really cold. Our breath froze to our hair, but the snow was frozen solid; snow shoes were hardly necessary.
