This week has just been one thing after another in terms of things going on me...first my lens, then my car AGAIN, and now my digital freeview box for my TV! Just money, money, money at the moment. The car is going to have to wait until after our holiday now ( a week on Saturday until we go! ) , it's the whole idle control box or something, like last time, although the mechanic only put a second hand one in and then a couple of weeks ago when he came out he just tightened a cable up and did nothing else. Not impressed! My dad's car has been playing up too and has been in the garage for nearly a week now and he borrowed my car for work and it went on him completely, so yeah, the lens is being replaced, and the freeview box i'll be buying tomorrow. Ugh. Ever have one of those weeks?

Anyway, despite the very overcast weather, i really loved this shot. I was really happy Missy wasn't spooked about being put in the trough and she held her pose perfectly :)

Bank holiday Monday was such a beautiful, warm, day. Our evening walk made for great photo opportunities with "golden hour" in full effect.

Unfortunately, i'm not sure whether the auto focus on my lens has gone. I was happily snapping away, turned the camera off for a few seconds, turned it back on and the lens made a loud whirring noise. I managed to continue taking pictures, but when i turned it off it made the noise again. Then i switched it on again, and couldn't take ANY pictures. Tried it in manual mode, but nope, no luck there either. Switched it back to AF and it was working again. But it continues to make the whirring noise. Not really sure what's wrong, but it's my fave lens and i really don't want it to break on me :( Anyone know what the problem might be?

Now the weather has warmed up the past few weeks, and spring finally made it's appearance, we've been enjoying our walks more and spending more time visiting fave walking spots of ours that we don't use all that much throughout the winter months because of the mud and wet weather.

I really liked the colours & lighting in this shot and of course my happy, smiling, boy :)

Took a trip to TWO woods earlier today in hopes the Bluebells would be out in full force. The first wood they weren't really out at all, but they were out more fully in the second wood we stopped off at close to home. Still got a way to go, but i had planned for this picture this week so i was determined to get a shot of Missy among the flowers.

Beautiful sunny and warm day with temps at around 63/64F :) We made the most of our walks today.

On Monday, while my mum was visiting, we took a trip to our local wood. I wanted to try out a new route into the woods, figuring it would be pretty quiet as it's not officially a path. But it turned out to be pretty busy and we saw a number of dogs which meant Missy had to stay on lead the entire time ( aside from when i got this shot ). The first dog we saw, Missy dealt with reasonably well. Ty ran to her side and barked at the other dog to get lost. But my mum is very anxious around loose dogs and she was really stressed. She was shouting over at the owner ( who was no where to be seen ) to call their dog back. I can understand her anxiety, especially when you're walking with Missy, but if I don't get stressed and i'm dealing with the sirtuation it can be really hard having someone reacting to the situation too, and the anxiety just makes it worse on everyone. The second dog we met was a lovely Husky. It was playing with Ty, having a great time through the woods, but again, my mum was very anxious and thought they was to "boisterous" even though the play was actually very civiliased with no contact made between either dog. Eventually the Husky began to approach Missy and as she was still stressed from the first dog encounter she was extra reactive and i had to keep her at bay and tell her "no" over and over, while again, trying to convince my mum everything was ok. So yeah...not exactly fun. Oh, and to top it off we got lost and had to double back on ourselves! Next time i think i'll visit on my own! lol

I really liked this tree stump and Missy was just the perfect size to sit on it and pose for her picture. This was after she had reacted at the Husky and it took a few firm "stay" commands to get her to wait and relax a little as she was on high alert and kinda cheesed off lol, not to mention she really wanted to get down and grab a stick! ;)

Ok, so i planned to join in on the challenge this week. I did manage to get a shot the same day this was taken, but i didn't like it much. The other idea i had was more set up and i don't want to stress Missy out in front of the camera just as she's gaining back some of her confidence with it. So, i've decided to sit this one out.

Was a very windy day when this was taken Wednesday. Missy was obsessed with the water and also found another massive stick that made getting her attention difficult, but in the end i had to be sneaky. I tossed the stick down into the water, over some rocks that i was sure Missy wouldn't be able to scale. Wrong! She scrambled down there and heaved and pulled her stick back up the rocks backwards! After that, i just popped her on the lead and we moved areas lol.

Took a trip out to Grafham Water today, making the most of the mild weather. However, i didn't take into account just how windy it is out! Was awful! However, the dogs had fun and that's all that matters.

I really liked this angled shot, the focus isn't as much on his eyes as i'd have liked, but just look at that flappy ear in the wind and that lip caught up on his tooth! So cute.

Last week i bought Missy this new collar, part of the company's new summer range. I wanted a matching ID tag to go with it and had the perfect design in mind! ;) Was going to go with a slider tag because somehow Missy always manages to lose or damage these dangling tags, but because i wanted to design it, i went with the original kind, as you can see.

Because Missy's nickname is "Pig", i thought it only fitting she should have a Piggy ID tag lol. Have wanted a tag like this for EVER, but i had to design it myself because no where sells any pig tags. Could maybe have done with a larger tag, but i think it works. What do you think? Suits her, yeah?

This shot really shows the grey creeping up on her too. She's only just started going noticeably grey, but i think it makes her even more adorable :)

As you can see from the background, we've been having snow in the beginning of our Spring and very cold temps too. We have yet to experience any real sunshine or warmth and we're willing Spring/Summer to show itself! In some places where the snow had drifted it was really quite deep, but thankfully it's mostly melting now as you can see. Although, this is snow that has lingered on the ground for over a week now!

The cold and wintry weather doesn't seem to bother Ty though! :)

We found a fallen tree in the park today and of course this was Missy's idea of heaven, with all the broken sticks and branches.

I thought having her posing on top of the fallen tree would make a nice photo. My dad had come along too as i seem to be having problems with my car again and am not wanting to drive it at the moment! So, he held a stick above Missy and she jumped up on the tree, raced up the trunk a little and ended up perched and on the edge like this. I quite like the fact she's looking away from the camera and i like her alert and keen expression.

13/52 - Perched and waiting.

A late upload this week. No excuses really, have just lacked any real inspiration to take pics this week and i've been quite busy too. Sorry for the lack of comments this week, i'll be back on form next week, i promise.

It's been bitter and cold most of the week and what better way to spend a chilly afternoon than to wrap up warm and snuggle down in a nice blankie :) Missy loves getting snuggled up in this when she's tired, although it belongs on Ty's bed really ;)

On Thursday we're off to Crufts for the day and like last year with Tyler, i thought a show inspired photo would be quite fitting. So, here is Missy showing off her 1st place rosette in an online dog show. Actually, i'm not so sure it's her rosette or Ty's but whatever lol. She'll always be my number 1 girl.

Am posting slightly earlier this week because i'll probably be uploading a few breed photos from Crufts after Thursday.

I didn't initially want this in B&W or so close up in the frame, but on uploading i liked the full frame look and focus on her eye and rosette, it's just different than all my other portrait type shots. Converting it to B&W it just looked better than colour so i stuck with it. Looks better viewed in lightbox so check it out on black too ;)

After about four/five months of sheep filling "our" field and the farmer blocking off access, we finially got the field back yesterday :) It's such a lovely field and very private which is perfect for Missy and her DA/reactivity issues. So of course we was all happy to be walking there again and Missy had a great time playing fetch and running about.

Although this is anything but a stick lol. Its a log and a very heavy one at that. Even i had trouble lifting it up and there was no way you could throw it! For anyone who doesn't know, Missy is OBSESSED with sticks and the bigger the better in her eyes. She managed to carry it around for a bit and gnaw at the ends. I swear this little dog is part Beaver! lol. Her jaw strength is amazing!

I took this before seeing the challenge posted in the 52 weeks for dogs group, but it fits the challenge requirements so i'm including this as my attempt. I was crouched down, shooting from my knees and while i was looking through the screen i was using continuous shooting so i kinda was shooting blind too because i didn't really see the results properly until after i'd uploaded them ;)

I think this looks better viewed on black, so check it out in lightbox ;)

At Sunset. I was hoping for a really lovely sunset but that didn't happen and i had to make do with the little remaining light i had left and just get a view of the beautiful and deserted beach.

7/52 - Happy Valentine's Day

I had other ideas this week but Missy would NOT cooperate with my plans so i went with this idea instead. Actually, you can probably see the hearts on her little jacket here more than you could my previous idea so it's all good. I don't make a habit of dressing her up either, she has a few clothes but ONLY for photo shoots. She doesn't really enjoy wearing them!

Both Missy and myself wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day :)
