This boat docks temporarily at Humphrey's Restaurant in Antioch CA. It is a teaching platform for scientific research on the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers. It takes classes of children out on the river to see firsthand the ecology of the delta. Way cool I'd say. Unfortunately Big Bad Bill and I could not go on it today.

This is one of the many rescue and assist vessels here on the delta. I think if you call him it is 125 dollars an hour starting when he leaves the home dock. I don't think he takes AAA.

Tug And Barge

Here we have a tug pushing a barge along the San Joaquin river just off of Antioch CA. Just what they are going to use the crane and the porta-poopers for is still a mystery. I have been watching them for a week but still no clue as to what they are doing. Stay tuned for further details!

More Toxic Algal Bloom On Rock Slough

Eeyow! Now we have even more of this algal crud growing off of Holland Tract in the Sacramento San Joaquin River delta! So much for Al Gore and his environmentalists. This really sucks since this is where our drinking water comes from! Can you say "YUCK!" This stuff keeps getting worse year after year and pretty soon the river is going to be choked shut by this crud. Help!

Today was very windy on the Sacramento river and needless to say all the thrill seekers were out in force! I have never attempted this but it looks like a ton of fun!

OK, I am guessing this is an empty container ship on the San Joaquin River across from Antioch CA. I just happen to be hanging out at the boat launching ramp when this monster came by.

Here we find a tug pushing a barge full of what looked like gravel up the San Joaquin River. With the shallow depth of field the boat almost looks like a toy according to Mrs. I Love Badger Dogs!
