1975 was a significant year for the GVB, this one was one to forget. The year 1975 saw many accidents that year including one leading up to the cavalcade, which will follow in due course. Other ineresting detail are the ticket seller boxes left of the tram used mainly during soccermatches in the Olympic stadion.

Two tram/bus ticket vending machines showing different prices for the same type of ticket. The lady feeding pigeons had a keen ear for people on the run who inserted too much money and she would get up and collect the 'change'. The stamp vending machines in the back did some good business as well.

Classic triple axle tram set on line 3 on one of the tramstops on top of the Ruysdaelkade bridge.
Tramhalte van lijn 3 op de Ruysdaelkade brug. Het stoppen en optrekken ging op deze plaatsten met veel gebonk gepaard want de bijwagen liep vaak wat terug vanwege speling in de koppelingen. Net over het hoogdste punt van de brug kwamen de koppelingen weer hard tegen elkaar aan.

Adelaide H-class tramset 370 plus Golden Tram 377 trailing on the King William Street - South Terrace intersection.
377 was painted gold in 1979 to celebrate the 50 years anniversary of the Bayline to Glenelg.

Since 1985 when this photo was taken the streetscape has changed a lot, the tramway tracks to the old terminus in Victoria Square are no more, the turn right to Angas St depot has gone, and double tracks have been constructed left of the square green. More high rise has been put up at the Franklin Street end.

Leidsestraat 1975, there is still a forest of traffic warning signs bolted to the residence right in the picture. Drivers not familiar with this street quite often caused upheavals as on this corner for one you could not stop the car to peruse each and every sign. In typical Amsterdam fashion the driver of the Citroen parks right under the 'no parking' traffic signs.
