North of the market town of Otley (West Yorkshire), in the beautiful Washburn Valley, is the remains of Dob Park Lodge.
Built shortly after 1600, this former hunting lodge was already in ruins when J M W Turner painted "On the Washburn, under Folly Hall" in 1815. This Lodge can be seen at the top left of his watercolour - now in the British Museum, I believe.
It is a Grade II listed Scheduled Monument on the Heritage at Risk Register as large parts of what remains are at risk of imminent collapse.

My PP work in RAW/Photoshop is almost always confined to a few slider adjustment and some gentle layering of bracketed and multi-focus shots. On this occasion, I decided to play around with a little HDR and posterised the image. The result? You decide.

Grenada's premier beach. This beach is a big meeting spot for families out to enjoy themselves from Friday evening through Sunday. At other times you can almost have it to yourself.

Non-HDR but processed twice in RAW. Once with minimum intervention and the other with high levels of clarity and vibrance, together with changes to hue, saturation and luminance in selected channels. The two images were then layered in PS CS4 and the result is this pseudo HDR shot.

Dodging the breakers - Little Blue Heron

Little Blue Heron, on Magazine Beach, Grenada, Caribbean.

I don't have a birding lens and didn't have the 1.4X with me so I had to resort to stalking this beautiful bird as it fished from a rocky outcrop along Magazine beach at low tide. At each breaker, this Little Blue Heron launched into the air to avoid the waves. It had the brightest blue beak of any Little Blue Heron I have seen.

On the Washburn, Dob Park Packhorse Bridge

Dob Park is a former 17th Century hunting park in the beautiful valley of the River Washburn north of the market town of Otley in Yorkshire, England. Dob Park Lodge has been in ruins for over 200 years.
This packhorse bridge and ford is on an ancient route across the valley and crosses the picturesque River Washburn.
The flow of the river, now interrupted by the reservoirs of Thruscross, Fewston, Swinsty and Lindley Wood, and suffering the effects of drought, is reduced to a mere trickle.

The real problem in getting a good shot at Annandale is that concrete steps, platforms and railings occupy the right-hand side of the falls

'Caspar' in the landscape.

Newly discovered Neolithic/Early Bronze Age carved rock on Middleton Moor, North Yorkshire (north of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, UK)
Two cups, one conical and deep (55mm deep and 65/75mm diameter) and very similar in profile and same depth as cup on no. 458; small shallow irregular bowl-like depression with possible peck marks; curving groove on northern edge.
Named 'Caspar' by Richard Stroud
