8 minutes and 17 seconds is how long the light from the sun takes to reach the Earth. Four and a half minutes later, it reaches Mars with barely enough intensity to sustain life.

After 56 years (if you were looking at the sun from 56 light years away), the light from the sun would barley be visible by the naked eye.

Summer is here and you have to get up pretty early for sunrise. Some heavy cloud over the horizon delayed the sunrise a little today, but I always like the amazing light on the water when there is cloud in the morning.

Dawn at Lake Moogerah this morning with Matt and Kane. The clouds were quite heavy, but patience paid off as the sun peeped through the gap and lit the top of Mt Greville.

George Schmid was moving in a series of convulsive spasms, like someone with an epileptic fit. His face contorted and his eyes wild like a lassoed horse bracing his legs, but something kept pulling him on ... I guess old George didn't rightly know what he's getting himself into. The fit was on him and it carried him straight to the crossroads.
