While walking through the ravine, I almost tripped and "broke my neck" on a short metal post with this contraption perched on the top of it. I took a few close-up images from a variety of POV's and converted them to B&W.

A spider web at my daughter's front door; spreading from the front porch railing to the overhang above.
Scared the heck out of me as I walked out the front door, a mere inch (or 2.5 mm) from my right shoulder.

I managed to get a few images of this creature before it and its web mysteriously disappeared.

On Gabriola Island BC, the beach is strewn with driftwood that has been subjected to pounding surf, sun, rain and the abrasion of stoney beaches.
