Checked out the kite surfers yesterday at the Spit in Howe Sound. The winds were ripping. I only had my 24mm lens with me, so a good indication here as to how close these surfers get to shore line. Next time the big lens.

Vancouver's 9 O'Clock Gun

I took this photo last summer of the 9 O'clock Gun firing, to achieve this after a couple failed attempts, I set camera on bulb and used the remote and crossed my fingers. I wanted a good balance between sunset and the flame shooting out from the gun.

Upper Falls in Johnston Canyon, check out the person below, belaying in the ice cave. As the top climber got into the ice cave/hole above he vanished for a few minutes, only to pop out above...very cool.

I used a long lens and off camera flash.

Well first. I do an endo last week, now it's my wifes turn. From Saturday, all I wanted to do was practice some action shots of my wife and her friend...better known as the "Scarlet Skulls".
She is a little bruised and the bike needs repair, but hey, I got my shot.
She took one for the team :)

After a great sunny weekend on the Westcoast of Vancouver Island, we were lucky enough to capture some big waves and dramatic lighting.
The light was so harsh, I decided to really under expose to give way more drama and to silhouette the surfer.
