I took so many photos each day during my 365 project, that I've decided to do a "365 Rewind" project by posting an out take every day that was taken one year before.

The recreation of the Rolling Stones' Sticky Fingers album cover was one of the few actual staged concept shots that I did during my 365 project. It was sort of a challenge. Actually, I challenged a friend to do it and he said "no, you do it." So, I did. In order to fill the pants of Joe Dallesandro from the original shot, I had to do a lot of adjusting, and I had to (ahem) arouse myself. It was fun!

This shot only took a couple of takes. It was a quick shot before heading off to work, so it was kind of rushed. This is the only "out take" there was.

Bonus: It's an inadvertent "Flash Your Fur Friday" shot!

I borrowed Jarrod's sunglasses for this shot. I'm not sure why I was making that face. Jarrod is wearing the sunglasses in the shot I posted last year.

I always liked this one for it's simplicity... and the fact that you can see my entire living room reflected in my eyes. Well... I can see it, anyway. :-)

I used to be self conscious about my adam's apple because I was so skinny and it stuck out. Thankfully, I'm fatter now, so that's not a problem.

The Kodak EasyShare timer can shoot two shots... one at 10 seconds, one at 20 seconds. That has saved me on many occasions. In this case, this was the first shot and the one I posted was the second... and they were the only two I shot that day.

I chose the other one because I have less of the appearance of a double chin and my hand is not blurred. (I was literally doing this while I was getting ready in the morning.) I cropped the other one so that the towel, lighting fixture and electrical outlet couldn't be seen. I also straightened it out so that the lines of the wall are parallel with the edge of the photo.

For a really quick shot, I guess it worked out alright, since the original is one of my top five most viewed of all time.

I felt certain that someone would eventually figure out what I am holding in my hand in the original shot. :-)

I love what the sun did in these shots. I think it happened because the camera was auto-focusing on the woods in the background, so it automatically adjusted the expose to capture the trees and I became over-exposed.

Speaking of over-exposed, I had to do a bit of Photoshopping to a specific area of this out take so that I wasn't exposing too much. :-)

The shot that I posted last year was actually one of my least favorites from my 365. But, I really just wanted to take a shot and get it over with. This shot was pretty much identical to the one I posted, except that I had a more pleasant look on my face, and my arms were crossed. I decided to change it up by making it black and white, cropping in tighter and angling it. Amazing what such simple changes can do to a mediocre photo.

I'm much happier with this than the shot I posted last year.

Here's a closed eye version. Since the eye was the only compelling thing about the original shot, this out take really has nothing to offer... Unless you really like detail shots of pores. :-)

I only got a couple of reasonable shots on this boating excursion... the one I posted last year (which is blurry) and this one, in which I look like I'm trying to pick something out of my teeth with my tongue. That may be the case. If I recall correctly, it was likely shrimp cocktail.

The shot I was going for was meant to be more of an action shot... but it was difficult to hit the time, get on my bike, get up to speed, and time it just right so that I was passing in front of the camera just at the right second. After several failed attempts and a lot of frustration, I ended up shooting the still shot that I ultimately posted.

The shot above is the only shot that I actually got with me moving. But, before you ask how I was able to go so fast in reverse, the motion blur was applied in Photoshop to make an otherwise boring photo a little bit interesting.

After the walk on the breakwater, we went for lunch and blood marys. I probably didn't post this one last year because I had just posted an alcohol-related photo a couple of days before and I didn't want everyone to think I am a lush. :-)

This one was taken a few minutes before the one that I ended up posting, as you can tell by the passing of the boat in the distance. You can see my friend Jarrod reflected in my sunglasses. He got to spend a whole weekend watching me take pictures of myself. Lucky him.

I didn't have much to work with today. I shot this as I was sitting in the barber shop waiting for a haircut. Unfortunately, my head was not in focus, but the background was... not the effect I was going for. So, I blurred the background and sharpened the back of my head.

This was another late evening shot. The day must have been lacking good daylight. And I guess I must have decided that being naked would improve the shot. :-)

I don't remember why I felt that the only time I had to take photos on day 22 was while I was driving.

I don't even think that he original was very good. So, choosing an out take was challenging. I decided to convert it to a green "duotone" so that I wouldn't be embarrassed to post it. :-)
