And I hate surprises! Especially this one, since it has been chewing my morning glory plant all up! I don't like to use any chemicals, and I am always losing the battle to pests like this. I hope it's position in the grand scheme of things is important, cause it was still there, chewing, when I walked away :(

The light plays in between the petals of a beautiful rose, showing off the pink just right.
I used to feel the only truly beautiful rose was one with many petals. Maybe it's just the realisation that there is beauty in all nature, or maybe it's just opening my senses up to what is around me. I don't know why I see this as being so beautiful, and more fragrant than before. I just do.

Found a rust junkie's heaven today, and would have taken more than the thirty photos I did, if only I hadn't discovered the bees nested in some of the workings.

There's this neat little corner grocery in Gail, Texas (USA) that caught my eye for so many reasons. One was the lack of beer advertising, which is so prominent these days, and the other was that "We don't sell gas" sign. The lack of pumps should tell you, I guess, but that signpost does mention it's a cafe, so it could be a double meaning.
The cross against the signpost tells you a lot about the town, and the owners...

This is such a dry place to live, with little rain, a lot of wind to move the dust around. When we are lucky, and have behaved ourselves and shown we are worthy of the blessing, Comanche Springs will flow, just enough to show us how careful we need to be with the resources given us.
On this day, I was reminded of gold, and how precious water is to life...

This garden caught my eye the other day, making me want to return with a camera when I was not quite so rushed. I like the way it came out :) There was a bit of a breeze, and I was really concerned that it would not be in focus, but I think it passes...

My jack's bean is wilting before my eyes, losing to the change of temperatures, and the shorter days. I do have loads of seeds (beans) from this year, but they are only for planting, not for cooking :)

Pretty little seed carriers, aren't they? But see those points on the ends of everything? They will make you itch like crazy when you try to pull the weed up...
