Fresh snow falls as the temperature falls below freezing. The second time this year we've had snow before the new year, very uncommon. I took a drive up Highway 2 into Wrightwood, CA to catch some shots as the snow fell hard all around me and gave me some good shots.

Heading west on Highway 120 out of Lee Vining one finds themselves on the "Road to Happiness" heading towards Yosemite National Park. This is also the start of the Tioga Pass. You gain almost 3000' in elevation in just around 12 miles.

A lone tree sit in the middle of Tuolumne Meadows with s deep blue sky thanks to my polarizing filter. Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite National Park, California is a great place to visit when open. Taken on October 10, 2011 after driving up from Lee Vining on the eastern side of the Sierra's.

A three shot HDR shot using Oloneo's Photoengine. Then some processing using PS2 and Topaz Labs.

One, if not the oldest House in Bishop, California. This makes for some great photo opportunities with the trees and clouds in the background. Located just northwest of Bishop, CA.

Edited using Topaz Labs software to give it a look of an oil painting yet retaining a photographic quality.

A shot I almost missed. Driving the June Lake Loop I drove by this spot when I saw something that caught my eye. I backed up and grabbed the shot. Lightly processed using HDRsoft's Photmatix with three bracketed images.

South Fork Bishop Creek

A long exposure of the South Fork in Bishop Creek before the sun has come up. I love this time of day for shooting running water or small falls as it evens the color tones out. Bishop Creek is located west of Bishop, CA about 10 miles.

This is not HDR and only had minimal sharpening and level adjustments done to it.

View in original size. The sun bursts through some aspens on a lovely Fall day in Upper Lundy Canyon west of Lundy Lake This is a great little area that has lots of fallen trees in a nice watery area. The Lundy Lake area is located off Highway 395 northwest of Mono Lake.

A lone tree along Highway 395 in Bishop makes for a great Autumn setting. Strong colors along with the moon and a lazy cow under the tree make this a favorite of mine.

Three aluminum fishing boats seem to be waiting on someone to take them fishing on Little Virginia Lake. This is one of several lakes in the Virginia Creek area located west of Highway 395. A great little spot of vacationer's, campers and anglers.

Lake Island Masoleum during the Dia De Los Muetros Celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in West Hollywood, CA. The Dia De Los Muetros Celebration happens once a year at the end of Octiober. People celebrate the dead by dressing up gravesites and dressing in ghouly costumes. Hollywood Foverever Cemetery is a great place to visit the dead!

Shot in HDR to bring the photo to life at dusk. Edited using three bracketed shots in Oloneo's Photoegine.
