The wind was blowing so hard the dunes all look painted to me. I loved the shadows and rolling dunes in this one.

Having some fun with the frozen water around Zapata Falls. The light was coming through the rock crevasse and creating some sweet shadows.

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve - Mosca, CO

Grasslands, Sand and Mountains. I believe this is looking at Antoro peak. The skies were so blue and with that polarizer filter the blue really takes over. This is right off the road before you get to the visitors center. The dunes stand ~750 ft tall at the highest point. The peaks in the background are standing ~6000 feet above the start elevation of the dunes.

Clear Creek Canyon, CO

This didn't come out like I wanted. There are 3 climbers on the wall in this picture and the one fisherman. I was hoping I would somehow be able to show them all. Unfortunately the climbers are just a spec. This is what a typical Saturday / Sunday looks like in this canyon. Fishers and climbers all over enjoying the gifts that Colorado gives us.

I like a lot about this photo. Mostly that I can walk around at iso 1000 and be able to get clean photos still. I love you 5d, you make me smile. As for the photo, I love the colors and bumped up the blacks a little to bring out the shadows.

Lots of stuff going on in this photo. It's tough to get everything exposed like I want. The timing was just perfect to have the sun coming directly through the rock crevasse and providing this beam of light into the photo. At the same time it also takes the eye away from the waterfall and ice. I hope you like it.

What an amazing place. I took a lot of pictures and will be posting my favorite few over the coming days. The journey to the top is a struggle. It's fairly steep at times and it's sand. It's a beautiful site from the bottom or the top. Unfortunately on this day the wind was brutal. Nobody was standing at the top for more than a minute or two due to the wind. Luckily though the skies and lighting were A+.

Spring is in the air. In one direction! The other direction towards the high peaks was covered in clouds as a storm was blowing in. This was my first time traveling in Northern Colorado. As with most drives through Colorado, beautiful colors and variety were plenty. Not many great pictures, but still worth the trip.

I adjusted this one a bit. I bumped the blacks up a lot to give it a darker tone and feel. Cold snowy morning this morning. Very welcomed though.

This is why I bought this camera. Walking around and shooting at 800-1600 iso was not a possibility for me .... until now.

First night out playing and liked how the lights jumped off this shot and the beam of street light came from the bottom.

Not really happy with any of the sunset shots I got here. I really need to sit down and try some HDR magic, but considering it has taken a month and a half just to go through them, HDR processing is probably unlikely.

Unreal scene here at sunset, one day I will learn how to capture these scenes to do them justice.

This is one of the window arches. I thought the person standing in the arch really gave a perspective on how big this thing was. Black and white just felt right on this one.
