Supposed to be on holiday by am getting up at 5.30am....earlier than when I go to work!

p.s. boosted the saturation a bit, worried it's too much though?

Eigg - Rock Pool

A large rock pool at the back of Laig beach on Eigg.

The light was tough tonight, really harsh as there weren't many clouds in the sky to soften it. That meant a lot of sitting around waiting for the sun to dip below the mountains on the Isle of Rum, then a furious race to get an image before the light went altogether.

The rocky section of Laig beach was like another planet. You really get a great sense of the awesome power that must have created these shapes.

Singing Sands Beach, Eigg

The sun had long since set and the rain was coming down as I put my tripod up for one last time on the Singing Sands beach on Eigg.

A 5 minute exposure of this lone rock, with a slither of Rum in the background produced just the effect I was looking for.

This is pretty much as it was straight out of the camera; just some dust spot clean-up and half a stop of exposure added. I intend to work on it more and also put plenty more from my week on Eigg up in due course.
