It may or may not be obvious that the "line" is because they're growing on a rotted log, one in this case that is used to line the path.

Hexastylis naniflora

Flowers can be seen in the upper and lower left corners, as jug-like objects.

The flower is a very small tube-like structure that's buried by the leaf litter. The leaves of the plant have a very nice and spicy ginger smell when rubbed.

It isn't the showy Southern Magnolia, but a related species, and the ones we saw were 5-10 feet tall. Obviously, this is one I forgot the name of.

It's a little early to be flowering, though a couple had flowers.

The fruits contain a chemical which is used in the treatment of viral and genital warts.
