Weihnachtsmarkt in der Dortmunder City mit Blick auf den höchsten Weihnachtsbaum
der Welt, erbaut aus 1100 echten Rotfichten. 46 Meter hoch. Dazu Glühwein und Bratwurst,
das sind die "Renner" auf unserem Weihnachtsmarkt, der Unmengen von Touristen anlockt.

Sonntag war Johnny Logan zu Gast und sang vor vielen vielen Zuschauern. Trotz Kälte zog er den Mantel aus, dann die Jacke und rockte in offenem Hemd und Lederhose. Da gingen dann auch die jüngeren Zuschauer aus sich raus.

On Sunday famous Johnny Logan sang on the stage, great performance, including a Robbie Williams song. The oldies and the young ones made standing ovations.

Die Reinoldikirche ist die älteste Kirche und Wahrzeichen der Stadt Dortmund. Die Kirche wurde 1250-70 als Pfeilerbasilika mit Querhaus direkt an der alten Handelsroute und heutigen Einkaufsstraße Westenhellweg und Ostenhellweg erbaut, mitten im Stadtzentrum Dortmunds. Beachtenswert sind vor allem die großen gotischen Buntglasfenster der romanischen Kirche und der 104 Meter hohe Kirchturm, der das Bauwerk entscheidend prägt und von weither schon sichtbar ist. Der Turm mußte bereits zweimal neu errichtet werden, zuletzt 1662-1701. Der Turm kann über den Glockenturm bis zur Aussichtsplattform bestiegen werden. Man genießt eine wunderbare Sicht auf die Dortmunder Innenstadt. Auf dem Reinoldiplatz findet der große Dortmunder Weihnachtsmarkt statt. Dieses Foto habe ich mit meiner Handykamera aufgenommen. The Reinoldikirche is the oldest church and landmark of the city of Dortmund. The church was built in 1250-70 as a basilica with a transept directly on the ancient trade route, and today's shopping street, Westenhellweg and Ostenhellweg, in the city center of Dortmund. Noteworthy are all the great Gothic stained glass windows of the Romanesque church and the 104 meters high tower that marks the building, which is visible from far away. The tower had been rebuilt twice, most recently from 1662 to 1701. The tower can be climbed up to the bell tower, there's a viewing platform. You have a wonderful view of the city of Dortmund. On the Reinoldiplatz there's the annual great Dortmund Christmas market with the world's hightest Christmas tree.

Last Saturday I thought I was in the Netherlands. All around people from Holland. And here,
at the Petri Church, some tourists from Japan and Italy, too.
