At this table the German unconditional surrender in the Second World War was signed on May 7 1945, in Reims, France. The German representative was Generaloberst Alfred Jodl (his chair is the one closest to the camera to the right).&lt;br /&gt;

The place was a school where the Allied Forces had their Supreme Headquarters - Today the school is 'Lycée Franklin Roosevelt'.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
