City of Konstanz, in south of Germany on the Lake Constance at the crossboarder of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria; here is it. I have studied here, and this city is contagious I tell you. It is like a virus sneaks into you, when you come here is hard to leave. I don't know i how longer I'm staying here...but for sure, it has become apart of me which I won't forget!
Ice Era

Pixeled79 posted a photo:

so, i hope it's not exaggeration but i share again these shots i took this evening in really freezing cold. I was well prepared, well clothed I mean, but it was colder. So if ANYONE taking pictures in these conditions around -12-14C° they should really be taking good care! It was a bit windy which made it worse, so warm up in between again at some place, otherwise things could go badly wrong!!! Body temperature is something strange! But na! worth it, while watch out...

In summer these places are crowded with students and residents of Konstanz enjoying a swim...now no way :D

peace!

so, i hope it's not exaggeration but i share again these shots i took this evening in really freezing cold.

In summer these places are crowded with students and residents of Konstanz enjoying a swim...now no way :D

peace!

It's ice age, just over a sudden! Ok, now it is a week that is very very cold, in all over Europe and Germany of course too. On the lake Constance, in south, many areas of the lake is frozen, especially where it is shallower.

It is freezing, but who would stand this tempetation and not go out for some photos. I couldn't hold my self... it should be around -17C° or so at minimum max.-8 or so. There were many people enjoying a walk or skating :)), but most of them left before sunset! Getting colder! ha!

These paws looked funny, they looked single, well can't be, but i don't know which animal it is! There are foxes around for sure...so don't know, just interesting. After finishing the shot and the sun set, I could hear the creek of the ice layers crunching!

I used a cheap sunset filter to highlight the colors more, and some crop/level/curve adjustment in photoshop! Handheld shot!

Last year after finishing a good phase of my studies, i had the chance to visit back home!
Sleimani, Kurdistan of Iraq. The city is now expanding, the economy is doing better, the relative peace after the removal of the dictator is having a good effect. On the one side it is good that the city is booming, while on the other side it is losing it's past beauty, i see senility! But then this is the trait of cities. I'm thankful that among all the mess of the whole region this city is keeping its peace, good brains, open-mindedness, and is trying to make best out of life. Trying to embrace life in a moderate way!
nice weekend to all of you!

time will pass, life remains a daily challenge, and there is nothing but to overcome hardships of life and look at things from a wide perspective to add something positive...and be in peace with the elemnts of life.

i took this shot little of two years ago...with my first DSLR, on a visit when I was still studying close to the swiss border, couple of frineds and I have visited the heights of Säntis mountain. I love mountains and heights. On that day the temperature was around -19 and it was very windy. Of course we didn't climb or walk up on feet...but it was still so cold up there, yet such a beauty of nature that still inspires me.
Large view recommended...
enjoy...

so it's been a while since I uploaded a picture! Although I haven't been to NY, but I see it as a bright and lively city! My NY is my Suly, "Slemani or Sulaimaniyah" an open, rather liberal, and culturally active city in Kurdistan -of Iraq. Although things don't seem as organized as they should be, but I'm glad that it has been a beacon for liberal thought and freedom in Kurdistan and even for most of Iraq. A city which always inspires me.
peace!

this is another picture, over one year old. I had to do it in HDR, to highlight the whole scope of it.

I have taken this shot in the national museum of my city in Kurdistan of Iraq, Sleimani."red security museum". The area and the building used to be a compound of the security apparatus of the ex-dictator "Saddam"s men. They used their power, especially in the 1980s, to scare and impose their brutality on the Kurds and many others.

These tanks are parts of the remains of the ex-dictator's army left overs! A dictator who spent billions and billions of dollars on tanks and military machines in successive wars. There lies as a black part of histor. A lesson in history for all who follow opression uselessly. It is sad to see that such a mentality is still out there, making news, from here and there, under various ideologies and covers. Peace...
