Oh and mmmm..... good bubbletea, Japanese food... I'm drooling at the thought... and I just had my second dinner of the night. I'm a beast apparently D:
Lake District Sunrise

ng.kelven posted a photo:

This past weekend I went up north from London to meet up with Bhawi from Manchester. We had a spontaneous plan to go to the Lake District about 2 hours north from there and take some landscape photos. We hiked from New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel and had the goal of doing the Langdale Pikes and Sergeant Man that day but that quickly fell apart because I took us on the wrong path lol. So sorry Bhawi!! I completely wrecked the both of us. But at the end, we hiked from 12:30pm to about 7:00pm and we couldn't wait to get off the mountain by that time. Still, we had a good time and we got some great landscapes from on the hike. This photo, as you can tell, was not from the hike but it was when we woke up at around 5:30am the next day to take in the sun rise. Realistically, we should have gotten up at around 4:30am but I don't know if that would have been physically possible for the both of us lol.

Thanks Bhawi, for being such a great photography companion :D It was lots of fun and we'll have to it again... though, we'll have to make sure I know where I am going next time haha.

Everyone should strive for something. Being absolutely content with everything you have and not progressing is a thought that scares me. Maybe one day we will reach that stage but not now. Not for me. Even with that perspective though, we have to find ways to relax and take things in slowly. Take things one step at a time and enjoy moments like this ^.

The weekend is here! I'm going to the Lake District up north from London this weekend. Let's hope we get back from the hike in one piece lol.

Film... oh boy

So I have a few people to blame for the new interest in my life... film. There is a whole world of photography that I had not thought much about until recently but after viewing their pictures and listening to their reasons for enjoying film, I am convinced. Maybe I am easy coerced? lol. But seriously, film has such a satisfying feel to it... it looks so real and it brings back memories in a way that digital can't sometimes. It has such a raw quality to it. Now I am really contemplating getting a Hasselblad 501cm :D Anyway, if you haven't already seen these amazing people's pictures, please do so. They do film... no, photography a huge amount of justice with their work.
On another note, I have been really inactive lately. Sorry about that! I was supposed to go away to Scotland this weekend but with the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the bad weather, we didn't end up going. So in London we are staying this weekend :( Ended up going to Fortnum and Mason to buy some tea for family and friends though. Spent 75 quid on tea!! They better freakin appreciate this lol

This weekend we went from a road trip through the Cotswold district and ended up in a few small towns and finally ended up in Oxford. Before we got to our B&B in Oxford though, we had to stop at these Canola patches to snap some photos. By the time we got out of this field, we were all covered in pollen lol. Anyway, this was the part of the UK that I like. Not big city, not busy, but lots of country side, small towns, and unique architecture.

While Oxford may have been one of the more well known places within the Cotswold area, there are lots of other things to see! Definitely recommend those who live in London or have some time to take a road trip to go and take a look.

Why do you care when you have no vested interest? In the end, can you change your nature? Even if you are aware of it... can you change who you are? Being emotionally intelligent is one thing, but can you truly change yourself for the better? Or can you do it in instances... and eventually revert back to your true instinct?

Blog updated for Madrid, Spain

So this was a picture from last night that I didn't get to post until now. Landed in Ireland on Friday and had a chance to explore Dublin a little bit but it really was not what I expected. Maybe I have fallen out of love with bigger cities but there was not much to see there. It also did not help that it was good friday and no places were serving alcohol so no guiness for me! haha.

The next day we got on an early train and headed over to Galway. I will update you with more pictures from the country side tomorrow night but wow.... the country side in Ireland is incredible... It left me speechless most times. So natural, untouched, and fresh. Anyway, that's enough of a teaser for now. I want to save the rest for when I have a chance to post up pictures from today.

Hope you all are having a great weekend thus far!

Today I drove out to the beach at UBC and decided to take in the sunset. This is the first time I have used textures but I think it gives this shot a bit of a different look. A lot more interesting than the original shot haha.

Anyway, I went to the Apple store this morning to see if there were any Iphone 4's for sale. Unfortunately, there was a lineup of over 100 people at 8:30 in the morning. Sigh...

This picture was from my final day in New York for this vacation. I went back to Central Park and had to visit the place I missed the first time - the Bathesda Fountain and Terrace. Lots of people, performers and activity. New York is just so full of life. I love it and can't wait to come back for another vacation. For now, I am back at home and am beat. I need some sleep...

Will visit all your streams tomorrow! Have a great Sunday!

One of my favorite advertisements was one by Lexus which focused on the moments. It is the moments that we most appreciate. Whether big or small, what we truly remember are those moments. Everything else that happens in between can be a moment too but for the most part it is just a filling. Something to take up the rest of our time. Because at the end of the day, memories are made of these moments.

Photography is just like that don't you think? Everyone has their definition of what a good photo is. Some of the best photos that I have ever seen though has to be those that capture a moment in time that you may never see again. Something emotive, though provoking, and dramatic. The goal is to keep striving for those kinds of pictures so I'll just have to keep shooting :)
