Self-Portrait Week at 52 for 2012. Man, I am glad that's over with! This is not what I had in mind, not at all. But when I finished taking several with me far less close, I obnoxiously got in front of the camera and clicked away with my remote. Surprisingly, this is the one I liked best.

OK, back behind the camera for me!
*This is a wildlife refuge, not my backyard!

Once again, I wasn't going to enter this week's 52 for 2012 challenge as it's not really cold here, and all the good ideas were taken. But then I ran across this. I think "cold" fits it well. :) Though I admit, this would have been awesome last week!
Let me just add someone left this hand on a tree in my neighborhood. I was so hoping they would leave it there long enough for me to snap it. Now I wonder how long it will be there before someone takes it down? hee hee

52 for 2012 Challenge this week is Processed Image. I fiddled with this one a bunch, and the results are below. First the original image, then, well, you can see for yourself. The one above is for the challenge. This is textured, but only on the barn itself. I think it added a nice touch. The texture I made myself.

Enough of this, I'm gonna go for a smoke.

A friend and I exchanged lenses - hers for me was her 50mm f1.8. I use same but 35mm. I found her lens delightful.

Early this morning spotted the bunny by the bushes, grabbed camera, opened door, bunny - gone. Found this lovely creature resting quiet, motionless, on the dahlia. Perfect light, color combination, background. A sweet gift to start my day.

Flatid Planthoppers. These have been on this stem for quite a while. It is surprising the deer have yet to eat this flower. Not complaining, mind you. These little bugs are part of the homoptera order. I don't think these guys are a problem though they live off plants. Not really hurting anything. I can reposition them simply by placing my finger beside them and they will scoot over, rather than fly off.
