It took me about 15 minutes to chase this guy down. First he landed on my shirt... which was really cool, but didn't give me a good angle for a photo. Then he would land everywhere and keep his wings shut. Finally, this moment happened and it all came together.

The brightest point in the sky, crossed by a spectacular shooting star... only there for a split second, and only visible from the place I was camping.

I've been trying to capture a shooting star/meteorite for a long time. I got this by pure chance... after a long session of shooting the night sky with a different lens, I put on my 35mm f/1.8 and took a wild guess at infinity focus. I carelessly pointed it at the sky, fiddled with some settings, and this is what I got...

A classic, Costa Rican red-eyed tree frog. This poor little guy had to endure numerous flashes while I got my shots. In the end, I think it all worked out well... and he was able to go back to sleep on a leaf.

Taken at the Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.

Shot on a gorillapod SLR-zoom @ f/16 through .9 + .6 ND filters to get a 1/2 second exposure during the daytime. This gives the water that milky smooth effect.
