When you've fished a lake your whole life there are some places where the fish always seem to bite. If the lake is downtown Milwaukee, the first spot I'm hitting is "The Cage".

Located up under the 27th street bridge is a caged-in walkway that overlooks the CP main as well as the city's skyline. I stopped by to catch a Builder, and as it turns out, this was the biggest and baddest Builder of them all, at least for this fisherman.

I was raging in the cage, literally shouting for joy as this Warbonnet (Ex- ATSF C44-9W No. 669) came into view. // February 6, 2011

Just half a minute prior to this shutter click, the sun dipped behind a row of clouds taking with it my golden light on the nose.

BNSF Dash 9 no. 1021, decorated in the "Heritage One" scheme, has taken over point duty on this day's Amtrak No. 8.

The Empire Builder must have had some trouble back West, leaving me with this tasty leader crossing the Menomonee River in downtown Milwaukee. // Summer 2009
